South Africa 2004/5
Over Christmas and New Year 2004/5 Tuffers hosted our tours to South Africa. We offered three touring options:
The Two Oceans Tour combined the Durban and Cape Town Tests over Christmas and New Year. The Two-week tour included Christmas Day Lunch at the exclusive Ballito Manor north of Durban, New Year's Eve at the Waterfront in Cape Town and a tour and dinner on the Stellenbosch Wine Route.The Coastal Safari Tour began with a game safari near Port Elizabeth, and followed the Garden Route all along Africa's south coast to Cape Town in time for New Year's Eve. Highlights included a full day's safari at the Scotia Game Reserve and Addo Elephant Park, and a Sunset Dinner Cruise on Knysna Lagoon before joining in the festivities in Cape Town.
The Mother City Tour was an eleven-day Cape Town only option for those who wanted to be at home for Christmas and have a shorter time away. The tour still included wine tour, New Year's Eve and Test Match Dinner before England took on the Proteas at Cape Town's beautiful cricket ground, Newlands.The Durban Test match was fascinating, as Strauss and Trescothick overturned a 200-run deficit to set up a winning position before South Africa were saved by bad light on the last day. In Cape Town, England were poor, but in such an incredible
country, the tour still offered an unforgettable experience.
