The Monaco Grand Prix
The Brief: One of Paragon's clients, TFS Derivatives, wanted to take several important clients to a prestige sporting event in Europe. It was important they were given a first class event where the organisation was flawless. We suggested the Monaco Grand Prix.The Event: Paragon organised a 3-day inclusive package for TFS. We placed the group at the Palais de la Mediterranee in Nice, the city's premier hotel, characterised by stunning architecture and exceptional service. The group enjoyed helicopter transfers between Nice and Monaco, and watched all the action from the Paragon terrace on the 7th floor of the exclusive Shangri La Apartments. The terrace overlooks the starting grid and the high vantage point provides a view over 65% of the racetrack, with excellent views of the giant screens.
On arrival at the terrace on Saturday morning guests enjoyed gourmet coffee and pastries as the day's extensive qualifying programme - including the Porsche Supercup and Formula 3000 - began. Champagne, fine wine and a full drinks menu were available throughout the day, served by a private waiter and hostess dedicated to the group. At lunch, the guests took their seats inside the apartment for a sumptuous 3-course meal, before the Formula One Qualifying Session began - a controversial session which ended in Ferrari's Michael Schumacher being relegated to the back of the grid after deliberately blocking Fernando Alonso.
Sunday's programme included the main event: The Formula One Monaco Grand Prix. Guests enjoyed a second day of full hospitality and an unrivalled view as the programme progressed through the warm-up races towards the spectacular finale. Guests witnessed the most exhilirating event in sport from directly above the starting grid, as a fascinating race ended in victory for Fernando Alonso.
